Dr. Gita Revalde

University of Mainz, Germany, in 1996 she received Doctor’s Degree. She worked at UL as leading researcher and lecturer. From 2006 to 2012 she was the Director of the Higher Education department, Ministry of Education and Science of Latvia. Main responsibilities were policy making and implementation in HE and R&D, supervision of universities, student loan policy, quality assurance, cooperation with social partners and stakeholders, organisation of international cooperation (ASEM, Baltic and Nordic cooperation etc.).  From 2012 -2013 Gita was Deputy Rector of Riga Technical University. From 2013 -2016 Gita was Rector of Ventspils University College. Currently she works as a professor and leading researcher at the Institute of Technical Physics in Riga Technical University. She is teaching such courses as Physics, Optics and Optoelectronics, Atomic Physics, and others. In 2014 Dr. Gita Revalde was approved as a member of the Research and Innovation Strategy Council by Prime Minister of Latvia and in 2016 Gita was elected as a Corresponding Member of Academy of Sciences of Latvia. Gita has approximately 130 publications.
