Dr. Viktorija Vaitkevičienė

Viktorija Vaitkevičienė graduated from Kaunas University of Technology with a master degree in industrial engineering and received her PhD degree in Materials Engineering from Kaunas University of Technology in 2004. In 2011 after two years of lecturing at Kaunas University of Technology and five years of maternity leave, she moved to Klaipeda University and started to work as a scientific manager at Coastal Research and Planning Institute. In 2015, she was appointed as director of Open Access Centre for Marine Research of Klaipeda University. As a director, she is responsible for the management of the Centre that is main developer of Marine Valley, Integrated Science, Studies and Business Centre for the Development of Lithuanian Maritime Sector. Currently, she is the Lithuanian coordinator of EU-funded BALTIC GENDER project aimed at reducing gender segregation and gender inequalities in Marine Science and Technology.
