Rimantas Jankauskas is Vice-rector for research of Vilnius University, member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, and Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Histology and Anthropology, Faculty of Medicine. He obtained his PhD from Moscow P. Lumumba State University in 1988. His research interests are interdisciplinary, include bioarchaeology of the Baltic region from Stone Age till modern times, paleopathology, human biology and forensic anthropology. He has served as an expert in various expert boards, as well as editorial boards of several international journals.
